Galerie Mikael Andersen would like to welcome you to the opening of the exhibition Ubuntu with works by Günther Förg. On this occasion we will also be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the gallery, Saturday 30th August 2014 at 3pm.

The exhibition Ubuntu presents paintings, sculptures, drawings, ceramics and photographs by the German artist Günther Förg. The exhibition is built up as one big, accumulated installation, the inspiration for which is taken from the artist’s studio in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The exhibition is curated by artists Jesper Christiansen and Søren Jensen.

Günther Förg (1952 -2013) was one of the most prominent German artists of his generation. He began his artistic career in the 1970s with a series of monochrome paintings which have since then expanded into classic mediums: painting, sculpture, ceramics and photography, Förg often combined materials and media; in his architectural photographs he nurtured an aesthetic inspired by Bauhaus while his monochrome and lead paintings reflects on art in general.

The exhibition Ubuntu is a tribute to a great artist and at the same time marks Galerie Mikael Andersen’s 25th anniversary.
