A grand solo exhibition of Ernest Mancoba's (1904-2002) work opens at Centre Pompidou this June. The exhibition is both thematic and chronological, inviting visitors to an initiatory experience. Mancoba’s relentless search for "the central figure" is omnipresent. The different parts of the exhibition radiate around it, designed as motifs in a unified dance where only one image seems to move, the reflection of the artist’s relentless quest for unity.
