About

Lucy Teasdale explores sculpture through her use of diverse materials and methods during the creative process. Starting from drawings, Lucy Teasdale figures attain a formal abstract language that is in communication with both a wide range of art history and portrayal everyday objects, thus loading them with references to literature and pop culture. Lucy Teasdale often uses a number of synthetic materials with which she casts each of her monochromatic sculptures. In addition to this, Lucy Teasdale also works with bronze offering a certain weight that contrasts the dynamic and almost airy quality shape and imagery of the of the sculptures. Lucy Teasdale began her studies at the Chelsea College of Art & Design in London, she then studied at Düsseldorfer Kunstakademie under Professor Tony Cragg.
